Tomorrow marks Dubai's seventh annual car-free day, in which Dubai residents and employees of more than 1,000 companies and organisations are expected to ditch their vehicles and find alternative, environment-friendly ways to move around.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is committed to continuously interact with the initiative of Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Majlis, through addressing ideas, comments and suggestions received from various community members via the Smart Majlis.

In a major shake-up of traffic movement around Jumeirah, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has revealed that both Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Road will soon have one-way traffic.

"We are ready to take on the responsibility of hosting the next World Expo in Dubai and eagerly await our formal appointment as host city next month," said Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Expo 2020 Higher Preparatory Committee, as he attended the closing ceremony of Expo Milano 2015 on Saturday.

The Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) most prized possession, the Dubai Metro, turns six today.

The Public Transport Authority, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently decorated a host of taxi franchise companies operating in Dubai in recognition of their excellent performance in delivering classy services to taxi riders in the Emirate.

The incident near the Business Bay Metro station was reported to the Dubai Police at 5:50pm.

As The National reported yesterday, five years after the Metro began service, efforts are still being made to instil in the millions of commuters a shared sense of etiquette so that passengers can live alongside each other as harmoniously as they do in other aspects of UAE life.

The Dubai Metro does not operate on Friday in the morning hours. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has probably assumed that very few people travel in the morning, since it’s a holiday.

Following a successful introduction of speed sensors in a number of its taxis last year, Dubai RTA will look to roll-out the device across the entire fleet.
