Dubai Municipality pavilion at Gitex 2011 has exhibited its best practices and experiences in the field of e-government during different sessions in last four days of the exhibition. The newly lunched services include i-Dubai application, Usages of national identity card for municipality employees and a new website footprint.dm.ae.

Brands such as Costa Coffee, Burger King and Seattle's Best Coffee have already signed up for the cashless system. Etisalat is also in talks with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to allow NFC phone users to tap their way on to public transit such as the Dubai Metro.
