14m passengers ride Dubai Metro in April
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that a total of 13,879,636 passenger travelled on the Red and Green Lines during April, up from 11,298,414 in April 2013.
RTA to offer 174 outlets for rent at Metro stations
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will soon offer 174 retail outlets for rent at both the Red Line and Green Line stations to interested parties. About 106 retail outlets will be available for rent in the Red Line stations and 68 retail outlets in the Green Line stations, RTA said during a presentation to the tenants of the Dubai Metro stations outlets.
Dubai's RTA woos US investors for mega-projects
Work stalled on big-ticket projects including Dubai Metro’s Green Line and the Al Sufouh Tram, over complaints of non-payment from contractors. The RTA said in January it would seek funding for nearly a third of its infrastructure schemes over the next five years in a bid to spread the risk and cost of large projects.

Dubai Metro to show video of rules on Green line
"The video showcases a number of regulations and guidelines to be complied with, to ensure customer satisfaction and avoid offences, which are mostly attributed to passengers' poor knowledge about these guidelines. The two-minute video was shown in all 44 trains, on screens mounted in carriages.

It has been almost 21 months since Dubai Metro began operation and some passengers are still fuzzy on the rules, despite campaigns by authorities to keep them informed. Does the ban on food include gum? Does it include baby food? And is it OK to run to catch a train?
