The Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Chaired by HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, has endorsed the award of an AED60 million contract for constructing internal roads at Oud Al Mateena 2.

“Engineer Maitha bint Udai, Executive Director of the Traffic & Roads Agency at the RTA, said: “This phase of the project comprised carrying out new improvement works in a sector of the Road that extends 6 km starting from the Interchange of the Jebel Ali – Lehbab Road with the Dubai – Al Ain Road, widening the road from two to four lanes in both directions along with pavements in the direction of Hatta R/A, in addition to ground marking, traffic signals, lighting, safety means, rain water drainage and sewage works.”
New station to open on Dubai Metro Red Line
Dubai Metro’s Red Line will have an additional stop — Energy station in Jebel Ali — operating from September 30, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced. Until now 28 of the 29 stations on the Red Line were operational and Energy station will be the last station to open its doors to commuters.

RTA opens key sectors of Parallel Roads Project
The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced the opening of several road & bridges works in JAFZA (South) forming parts of the mega Parallel Roads of Sheikh Zayed Improvement Project. Last May, the RTA opened the service road leading to the Expo Road, and last December it opened the lane linking Al Maktoum Airport with JAFZA South.
213 million riders used Dubai Metro since launched till November 2012
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), revealed that the Dubai Metro, both Red and Green Lines, has touched new heights with ridership hitting 213.354 million passengers from the start of the commercial service on 10 September 2009 till the end of November 2012.
