Dubai Metro appreciates value of properties nearby metro stations by 41%
HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), revealed that the Dubai Metro has triggered a rise in the value of properties situated within a 1.5 km radius of metro stations on both the Red and Green Lines by a rate ranging from 13% to as much as 41%.
RTA to boost French relations
Among the most important projects awarded to French firms is Al Safouh Tram, which has seen a milestone last October where His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the model station and carriage of the tram for the project.
Dubai Metro hits the 100 million mark
One hundred million commuters have used the Dubai Metro’s red and green lines since the service was launched in September 2009 till November 7, 2011, according to Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Metro Sept riders more than UAE population
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai on Wednesday announced that nearly 5.9 million people travelled on Dubai Metro during September. A press statement issued today said that the Green Line – which opened for public on Sept.10, clocked 1.277 million passengers in just 20 days whereas the number of riders on the Red Line during September (30 days) hit 4,661,469 passengers.

Public Transport Agency reshuffles several bus routes
“Public Transport Agency also decided to merge Route (F4), starting off Al Rashidiya Metro Station, passing through Mirdiff City Center and Mirdiff East, with Route (F3) starting off Al Rashidiya Metro Station, passing through Mirdiff West, and Route (F10) starting off Al Rashidiya Metro Station, passing through Al Warqa 3 and Mirdiff City Center,” said Al Janahi.
Record numbers hopping onto Dubai Metro and buses
Dubai's plan to lure more people onto public transport has started gaining momentum as the number of commuters on the Metro and buses is rapidly increasing on a daily basis.
