Nov.1: No free rides on bus routes outside Dubai
As Dubai has decided to offer free public transport on Nov.1, the authorities have clarified that buses going outside from Dubai to other Emirates have not been included for free rides. On Nov. 1, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will commemorate its 6th anniversary by offering free public transport services in Dubai through Metro, buses and water transport, but only for NOL cardholders.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently inspected the Green Line of the Dubai Metro to make sure that all systems go for the scheduled opening on Friday 09/09/2011 where customer service employees and inspectors have already assumed their duties at various stations.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the extension of the operational hours of the Dubai Metro as of September 3, 2011 to 12:00 am on weekdays (from Saturday to Wednesday) and up to 01:00 am on weekends (Thursday and Friday). This timetable is synchronized with the impending operation of the Dubai Metro Green Line.
