Mohammad to open Green Line
The 23 km Dubai Metro Green line will be launched on September 9, 2011, by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Green line will consist of 18 stations in addition to two transfer stations; Union and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Stations, that will link the Green line with the Red.
Dubai Metro reaffirms commitment to emiratisation
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, reaffirmed RTA’s commitment to carry out its plan to emiratise jobs in Dubai Metro. Al Tayer said that emiratisation, and training national cadres to develop their talents and abilities tops the RTA’s priorities, and is in line with achieving its goals and objectives.
Dubai Statistics Centre helps improve services and efficiency
Statistics offer valuable informational support to decision makers enabling them to take informed decisions, a senior official said. Roads and Transport Authority launches monthly subscription service to Nol Blue...
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the launch of a monthly subscription service to Nol Blue Card, coupled with re-partitioning of Dubai into 7 zones instead of 5 in view of the geographical expansion of districts served by Dubai Metro given the forthcoming operation of the Green Line, and the opening of new routes for public buses.
RTA projects contribute to Dubai competitiveness
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board & Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), revealed that the projects and improvements carried out by the RTA, comprising roads, bridges & tunnels as well as mass transit network including Dubai Metro, public buses & marine transit modes, contributed to reducing the cost of time wasted annually due to traffic congestions from 4.9 billion dirham in 2005 to 2.4 billion dirham in 2010.
RTA encourages residents to park car, use Metro
Authorities from Dubai’s public transport are choosing to take a soft line in channeling people to public transport by placing adverts, highlighting the availability of thousands of parking spaces at some Metro stations, rather than stiffening licencing procedures.
Green Line to link government buildings
The Dubai Metro’s Green Line is touted by the transport authorities as one that “easily links most of the government departments.” The 16 stations are: Etisalat Station, situated at Al Qusais near Emirates Road; Al Qusais Station, situated near the building of the Ministry of Education and the General Department of Dubai Civil Defence as well as Al Tawar Centre
Eid launch planned for Green Line
The Metro’s Green Line, which is likely to have an Eid launch in September this year, will have greater impact than its predecessor, easing traffic particularly in the city’s clogged Central Business Districts (CBD), said Matar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Roads and Transport Authority.
RTA generalize Dubai Model to all its strategic services
Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) decided to generalize the Dubai Government Service Delivery Model to all its strategic services delivered to customers and as such will be the first government entity to apply the Dubai Model to all its service since the initiative was launched last November.
'Green Line will help cut 17% daily trips'
Dubai Metro will absorb approximately 17 per cent of daily trips in the emirate with the opening of the Green line that extends along 23km, according to Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of RTA.
