Dubai Metro's Green Line gets green light
The 23-kilometre Green Line, which starts at the Etisalat Station in Al Qusais near Emirates Road, will be missing two stops at first: the Al Jadaf and Creek stations. Those facilities are not scheduled to open because property projects in the area are not complete.

Extension to rail network planned in Dubai
Dubai is already home to the largest driverless rail system in the world and now the emirate plans to broaden its train lines further. Dubai Metro's Green Line delayed to end-2011
The launch of the second line of the Dubai Metro - the Green Line, has been delayed yet again. The line, which was originally slated to open in April 2010 and then postponed to August 2011, will now be operational in the last quarter of this year, according to the top executive of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
RTA chief orders Dubai tram project acceleration
The Roads and Transport Authority has held talks with contractor, the Alstom-Besix Consortium, and has asked it to "step up the tempo" on the project, Al Tayer, the RTA's chairman and executive director said in a statement on Saturday.
