Dubai launches useful municipal e-services during Gitex
Dubai Municipality pavilion at Gitex 2011 has exhibited its best practices and experiences in the field of e-government during different sessions in last four days of the exhibition. The newly lunched services include i-Dubai application, Usages of national identity card for municipality employees and a new website footprint.dm.ae.
100,000 expected to leave cars behind on free transport day
As many as 606,000 people used public transport on November 1 last year, a 39 per cent increase from the daily average of 436,700 riders in 2010. This year, the response is expected to be even greater, with the Green Line of the metro being an added attraction.

In its 24th session with clients of the Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, and Nol cards users, the Customers Council of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has discussed core issues related to the optimum use of various types of Nol cards with the aim of probing views, suggestions and constructive concepts of the largest possible chunk of the public about the improvement of performance and mechanism of Nol cards.

Metro re-zoning makes travel cheaper for monthly subscribers
“We moved from five to seven zones, and the fare has largely gone down particularly for monthly Nol card subscribers and people living near labour camp areas on the side of Al Qusais. It remained unchanged for some and rose a little bit for a few.”
Limited edition Nol card on Green Line launch
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued exclusive Silver and Gold Nol Cards for public transport users in Dubai to commemorate the opening of the Green Line of Dubai Metro. The Green Line, the Metro’s second, is set to open on September 9.
