Dubai Metro has broken the 3 million passengers’ barrier according to statistics compiled by Rail Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) which revealed that metro ridership has hit 3,492,175 passengers lifted in two months from the start of operation on 10 stations on the Red Line on 09/09/09 up to 09/11/09.

The Dubai Metro has been a hit with riders, with nearly 3.5 million passengers travelling the rail line since it opened in September.

Officials at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) explained two weeks ago that Dubai Metro passengers are only allowed to carry hand luggage, but they would consider increasing the luggage allowance if a significant number of users call for it.

The Dubai Metro has served over 2.5 million passengers since its launch on September 9.
