The Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping and entertainment destination, is celebrating China's heritage and culture by hosting a themed promotion and a range of activities amongst signature performances from the world-renowned Cirque Du Soleil, until February 23, 2013.

As many as 174 retail outlets at Dubai Metro stations will up for grabs as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) makes them available for rent.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will soon offer 174 retail outlets for rent at both the Red Line and Green Line stations to interested parties. About 106 retail outlets will be available for rent in the Red Line stations and 68 retail outlets in the Green Line stations, RTA said during a presentation to the tenants of the Dubai Metro stations outlets.

Etisalat’s deal alone reportedly cost AED135m, helping the RTA to raise nearly AED2bn as it looked to claw back some of the costs of constructing the metro. The RTA confirmed in 2009 that the cost of building the Metro had nearly doubled from AED15bn to AED28bn.

Adnan Al Hamadi, CEO of the RTA's Rail Agency, said the retail units offered "unique" business opportunities to companies. "They are expected to attract a wide spectrum of international brands, and accordingly boost the existing partnership between the RTA and private sector businesses," he said.
