This phase constitutes an important step in the construction of the project which is intended to provide a link between the Dubai Creek and the Arabian Gulf via a water canal passing across the Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Safa Park, Jumeirah 2 and up to the Arabian Gulf near the southern part of the Jumeirah Creek Park.

Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, said: “A work team has developed interim solutions as a remedy for this problem by opening a proper exit from the Gardens to the Sheikh Zayed Road; which will ease the traffic flow from this community, particularly during the morning peak hours. Work is in hand to configure the traffic signals on Street D59 in the Gardens in a way befitting the traffic density during peak hours.

In three years from now, the area surrounding Al Safa Park will look nothing like it looks today. Dubai Canal, one of the most prestigious projects undertaken in the history of Dubai (and there have been many), will be extended from Dubai Creek in Business Bay to the Arabian Sea, crossing some of the emirate’s most used roads.

The project, which costs about 14 million dirham, is set for completion by the mid of next year.

A couple of smart road users took the service road which became as congested as Sheikh Zayed Road. The metro offers a more stress-free option to visit Gitex, and a time consuming one too depending on where you start.

The clean-up drive will be conducted over two months. “We would like to find out all possible ways to keep our city clean and beautiful,” said Salah Amiri, assistant director general of Dubai Municipality.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the launch of a campaign for cleaning Dubai roads in collaboration with the Dubai Municipality in an effort to maintain the cleanliness of the environment on the right-of-way, and nurture a clean & proper environment gratifying to residents, visitors, and road users of the Emirate.

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced the completion of 75 per cent of construction works in Phase III of the Parallel Roads Project at Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), and expected all construction works in the project, which bears a price tag of Dh450 million, to be completed by the end of this year.

The Roads and Transport Authority said Al Mamzar Toll Gate, situated before and after Al Mamzar Bridge, and the Airport Tunnel Toll Gate - situated at the northern entry and exist of the tunnel – will go live on April 15. The announcement comes just weeks after the RTA said it was to charge taxis for passing through Salik gates.

Traffic flow in on Sheikh Zayed Road, New Dubai and Jebeli Ali Free Zone (Jafz) areas will become smoother after opening of several new roads and bridges. The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) today announced the opening of several road and bridges works in Jebel Ali Free Zone (South) forming parts of the mega Parallel Roads of Sheikh Zayed Improvement Project.
