Operations on Dubai Metro's Green Line will begin in the second half of 2010

In the field of infrastructure development, the ninth of September saw the opening of the first stage of Dubai Metro, which is the longest metro project in the world implemented in a single phase extending 75 kilometers and including 47 stations.

For his part the Canadian Consul General in Dubai praised Dubai Metro project, the fine design, top class finishing works and excellent service provided to customers.

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received in his office His Excellency Imad Adnan Madani, General Consul of the Saudi Arabian General Consulate in Dubai.

For his part the Irish diplomat congratulated H.E. Mattar Al Tayer on the opening of Dubai Metro Project and stressed that Dubai had once again proved to the world its ability to face and overcome challenges through delivering unprecedented achievements.

Her Excellency Mrs. Anne-Marie IDRAC, French Minister for Foreign Trade paid a visit to Dubai Metro where she was received upon arrival at Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), and several RTA chief executives.

H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), opened the Metropolitan Railways Assembly organized by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in the presence of the President of the UITP H.E.

The visit comes in the context of RTA objectives to foster and build on the existing ties with various parties at the local, regional and global levels.
