Weekend shopping hours have been extended to midnight in many malls including Al Ghurair Centre, Arabian Mall, Deira City Centre, BurJuman Centre, Reef Mall, The Dubai Mall, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Marina Mall, and Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Wafi, Mercato and Lamcy Plaza.

The Dubai Mall, the flagship development of Emaar Malls Group and the world’s largest shoppingand entertainment destination, has launched a project to build a 820-metre long pedestrian link that directly connects the Burj Khalifa/The Dubai Mall Metro Station with the iconic attractions in Downtown Dubai, including the mall and Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

"Online shopping is unlikely to ever match the hedonistic consumption patterns in Dubai's malls," said Mr Madichie, whose findings were published in a report entitled, "The Bold and the Beautiful of the UAE Retail Environment" in October's edition of the journal Marketing Intelligence and Planning.
