The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to release a new update of the Journey Planner (Wojhati) in concurrence with the launch of the Dubai Tram on 11.11.2014 in implementation of the trends of Dubai Government, to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world within three years.

“The number of users has constantly been on the increase, an indicator of the paramount importance of this effective tool to public transport users in Dubai Emirate in planning for their moves to different destinations online,” said Eisa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari, said chief executive officer (CEO) of Public Transport Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). “The number of users during the first half of 2011 clocked 110,000 persons, but jumped to hit 200,000 in the first half of 2012.”
Dubai eyes 30% public transport share by 2020
Walking to work and cycling to work can help encourage people to using public transport, said a senior officer from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The Emirate of Dubai is pursuing a target of at least 30 per cent of the use of public transport by the year 2020.
Authority launches 10 web kiosks for easy access to Wojhati service
At least 10 kiosks with high-speed internet service have been installed at different locations in the city to help commuters use the ‘Wojhati' service to plan their journey on public transport.
