His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has endorsed the ‘Route 2020’ Project, encompassing the extension of the Red Line of the Dubai Metro from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Metro Station to the site of Expo 2020.

Dubai has announced a new residential city for Emiratis which will be self-sufficient in terms of resources, transport and energy, said to be the first of its kind in the world.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai has issued a decree on the formation of the Expo 2020 Preparatory Committee under the supervision of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

Expo 2020 will translate into opportunities in all spheres, creating new career and business opportunities that directly impact the national and global economy.

On November 27, delegates from around the world will meet to decide the venue for Expo 2020. I believe they should choose Dubai. Let me explain why.

The RTA plans to stretch the Red Line of the Dubai Metro by making a connection from Jebel Ali to the Expo land in the same area through Al Khail Road.

Al Hashimi said: “We would like to invite visitors from all over the world by organising the global trade fair in 2020. To do so, we are promoting Dubai as a host city for Expo 2020 under the theme of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future. I will do my best to achieve such goal while in Korea.’’
