The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will soon open three new drive-through centres where residents can get tested for Covid-19 through a 5-minute nasal swab test.
The centres are the latest addition to the six existing drive-throughs opened by Al Futtaim Health, which will conduct free screenings for the company’s 20,000 employees and their families.
Public eligible candidates, which include those with cough, fever, shortness of breath or who have come in contact with a suspected or confirmed Covid-19 case, can get tested for AED370 ($100). But they must first fill an online self-assessment form on the Al Futtaim Health Hub website first in order to prioritise critical conditions.
The first centre opened at the Dubai Festival City on March 29 and has already conducted 400 tests, while the other centres will begin testing for the general public on Monday, April 6, and will be located in Al Futtaim Health Hub clinics in Al Ghusais, Al Warqa, International City, Discovery Gardens and Silicon Oasis.
A similar drive-through facility in Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City has already conducted nearly 3,000 tests since its opening on Wednesday.
The test results can take between 24 hours to up to 7 days to process, and patients must self-isolate until they receive their diagnosis. More
