Eagerly awaiting new Metro stops

Regarding April launch for seven Metro stops (February 21): I’d like to thank the RTA for the wonderful Metro service.

It has really made a big difference in my commute. Free feeder buses, a staff which I’ve always found to be extremely helpful, and a safe and clean environment – riding the metro has been a pleasure and a joy.

I look forward to the opening of the additional stations. It will make an already excellent service even better.

I notice this reader shows he lives in Doha, perhaps he’s only experienced the metro as a holiday maker and has the joy of one of the few stations that actually operate – if that is the case then yes, it is wonderful for the few that can use it. I on the other hand was nieve enough to believe the promises of the stations that would open in February in JLT so therefore foolishly took up residence there. Of course they did not open but again promises that it would only be delayed until April. Now I find that this has been changed yet again – yes the JLT station will be completed but not working – sorry but completed in my language usually translates into completely finished and if it’s not working then it’s not completed. Completed but staggered opening now leaves it wide open to not open at all but to be mothballed indefinitely and the misery of the residents in JLT continues where although we can see a finished walkway over to the shops in the Marina, we can’t use it and are left to the mercies of the taxi service or buy a car which I have now done being completely discouraged by the never ending excuses.

If the station can’t operate, surely to goodness at least
the walkway could operate but I have no hope that this will in fact happen. I would truly love to use the metro, it is a great idea, the staff are friendly and it would save driving but like most people it’s not an option for me, just a lot of hot air and I’ve given up.

Please open the JLT station soon!!!!!!!!!!
I live in JLT and work directly opp the JLT station,i sold my car and was planning a perfect existance however these days instead of every morning taking a beautifull stroll over Sheik Z rd i spend 20 minuts and 20AED in taxi fare one way just to cross a rd…….its does not make sense.
Dubai famously over promissing and underdelivering
come on guys you have to stop moving the goal posts and discover integrity , its a beautifull thing :)
This is a terrific place to live lets keep up the momentum
    Your truly
