90 dead on Dubai roads in first half of year

Dubai: There were 1,356 traffic accidents in Dubai in the first half of this year, which resulted in 90 deaths.

Pakistani drivers caused the most accidents between January and June, Dubai Traffic Statistics show.

Emiratis came in second, followed by Indians and then Egyptians.

There were 1,356 traffic accidents in Dubai in the first half of this year, which resulted in 90 deaths.

Pakistani drivers were involved in causing 166 accidents, which killed 31 people and injured 300. Of the 300, 31 were severely injured, 85 moderately injured and 154 sustained minor injuries in the first half of this year.

Emirati drivers came in second with 139 accidents that killed 16 people and wounded 226, of which 13 were seriously injured, 64 were moderately injured and 133 sustained minor injuries.

Indian drivers caused 135 incidents during the same period, which resulted in the deaths of 20 people and injuries to 231. There were 22 people seriously injured, 69 moderately injured and 120 sustained minor injuries.

Egyptian drivers caused 33 accidents, which killed six people and injured 67. More info
