Dubai: Al Quoz Metro Station on the Red line is located amidst the automobile showrooms of various leading companies on Shaikh Zayed Road.
The station has been named after Al Quoz – the main industrial district of Dubai. It will not only benefit thousands of people working in the automobile industry, industrial units, factories, warehouses and car rental companies but will provide easy access to residents of the upmarket locality of Al Safa 2 to the Dubai Metro.
It is an elevated station and an air-conditioned pedestrian bridge has also been built to link it to Al Safa 2.
The station will also encourage thousands of construction workers and employees of other private and public companies, who live in labour accommodation in the area, to ride the Metro.
Â
The recently re-opened Oasis Centre, which burnt down a few years ago, is just a 10 minute walk from the station while the old Al Ghurair University, Arabian Automobiles, Al Habtoor Motors, Al Naboodah Automobiles, Al Yousaf Motors and the Prime Medical Centre are located very close to it.
Since there are a number of car service centres of leading car manufacturers, motorists can also leave their cars for a service and use the Metro to go to work and then return to pick up their cars without any hassle.
The station is quite close to the Veterinary Centre in Al Quoz Industrial Area 1 and the Juma Al Majid Establishment.
Passengers at the Al Quoz Metro Station will be served with at least three feeder bus service routes. The feeder bus route F26 will serve passengers from the station to the Al Safa 2 residential area. Bus number F25 will carry passengers from the station to Burj Al Arab and will serve the residential areas of Al Manara and Umm Al Sheif. However, the feeder bus number F15 will mainly serve passengers from the station to Al Quoz Industrial Area.
Construction of the station linking the industrial area has also led to development of the road network in the area as a number of new roads have recently been redesigned and built to improve the aesthetic look of the area.
