DUBAI: The first number plates auction for vintage vehicles organised by the Licensing Agency of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has been a huge success and well received by clients who were keen on acquiring these unique vehicles, particularly as it is the first ever of its kind in the region. The auction’s proceeds clocked Dhs1.824 million.
Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA Licensing Agency, said, “Holding this open number plate auction for classic vehicles is in line with our drive aimed at offering equitable chances and transparency for clients and meeting their continuous desires.
As there are considerable numbers of community members who have classic vehicles aspiring for a suitable mechanism for buying distinguished plates or licensing these vehicles, this ensures safer mobility on roads.
