    DUBAI – Inspired by two basic elements — water and air — and designed with a complete focus on comfort, the interiors of Dubai Metro trains promise commuters a pleasant ride all through.

    Each train has five compartments with plush interiors, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has promised. The trains will have three classes, namely, the Golden Class, Women and Children Class and the SilverClass (Economy).

    Ramadan Abdullah, the Director of Rail Projects at RTA said that Gold Class cabins will be very luxurious with wide leather seats and will give the commuters a panoramic view through the front of the train. With only 18 seats per cabin, the Gold Class will feature exclusive lighting and design as well as carpet flooring.

    The Silver Class dons a combination of blue and green, with seats arranged in different ways to offer commuters the choice of either enjoying the view from the windows or sitting down and chatting with fellow passengers.

    The official said there were both parallel as well as perpendicular seating in the cabins.

    “The parallel seats will make it easy for people to stand if they cannot find a seat.

    “People will have a comfortable ride on the Metro,” he said. 

    The official added that every cabin will have space reserved for wheelchairs for people with special needs. 

    There will also be a priority seating policy for people with special needs, the old and the injured.

    All cabins have been equipped with audio visual devices to aid those with special needs.

    The trains will have a clear signage showing the route map and directions for passengers, apart from close circuit cameras for safety and security.
