Dubai Taxi exhibits modern projects

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) took part in Gitex Technology Week 2012; which was held in the Dubai World Trade Center (14 -18 October 2012) where it showcased a range of its modern technological applications and new e-services rendered to customers.

Engineer Mansour Al Falasi, Director of DTC Resources and Support, said: “The DTC took part in this Expo under RTA stand as it is keen on using the latest technologies in delivering a diverse cast of services and improving the caliber of service offering to bring it at par with the highest global standards prevailing in advanced countries. The move underlines DTC commitment to deliver services in a handy, speedy and transparent manner to meet the needs of all community segments in a bid to make this sector one of the most luxurious transport sectors, particularly as Gitex offers a great opportunity to check the latest in the IT industry.

“The DTC exhibited a host of existing projects and new e-services presented to customers in a new & creative design emulated in a taxicab fitted with the sophisticated systems used by Dubai taxicabs featuring new lighting system depicting the condition of the cab whether vacant or engaged. It also exhibited the Booking & Dispatch System (Dispatcher 8) recently launched by the Public Transport Agency and DTC involving upgrades of all feet vehicles totaling 3504 cabs. This new generation plays a vital role in improving the booking and dispatch service through the values & features added to the work process, rendering the booking & dispatch an easy exercise, enabling customers to reach their intended destinations in a comfortable journey and timely manner.

“The DTC also exhibited a new project involving mounting of screens on taxicabs; which is currently being experimented on 25 cabs where 20 screens have been fitted to VIP taxicabs displaying DTC ads under a trial period that will last for one year. 5 electronic monitors have also been fitted on ordinary taxicabs transmitting DTC ads and other entities honoured by the DTC among the winners of the annual Customers Loyalty Program including the Dubai World Trade Center, Radisson Blu Hotel, Trade Center Hotels Apartments, Jebel Ali Hotel, and Intercontinental Hotel; in a pilot project for a period of only a month, extendable,” elaborated Al Falasi.

“The DTC participation in Gitex 2012 is set to enhance its local, regional and global profile, enabling it to share expertise with participants in this prominent global event; which brings together scores of firms and agencies from all corners of the globe, and attracts considerable footfall of visitors, traders and business leaders,” said the Director of DTC Resources and Support in a final remark.
