The Woman Committee, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently reviewed with a visiting delegation from the Emirates Human Rights Association means of enhancing joint cooperation, examined key achievements made, and explored ways & means of setting up a platform for boosting common business.
The delegation, which was received by Dr. Aysha Al Busmait, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication cum Head of Woman Committee at the Emirates Human Rights Association; Ms Huda Al Muhairi, Head of Support Committee; and Mohammed Mubarak Al Kaabi, Head of Public Relations at the Association in addition to a host of representatives of both parties.
Al Busmait praised the communication between various entities in the UAE, as it contributes effectively and positively to uplifting the role and profile of woman in the community. She singled out the awareness efforts undertaken by the Emirates Human Rights Association in serving the entire spectrums of the community, and renewed her readiness to accord full support to the activities of committees affiliated to the Association through holding joint seminars & workshops aimed at heightening the awareness of women and their role in the community, and coordinating in realizing the objectives of the Association in diffusing the culture of human rights.
“The RTA opted to underscore the importance of initiating a woman’s committee concerned with women affairs to contribute to implementing various events and initiatives addressing vital topics in a bid to advocate women’s role & rights in the community by attracting specialized experts in respective fields to contribute to transferring knowledge to women and spreading new positive ideas to help them play an active and creative role in the community,” she added.
She explained that establishing the Woman Committee had had a positive and tangible bearing on empowering women to meet with the concerned parties, be it inside the UAE or beyond to get acquainted with the distinctive initiatives and ideas, besides organizing picnics to nurture an atmosphere of intimacy among them, and break the routine by unearthing their distinctive skills and practicing various sports disciplines.
Moza Al Ghafli expressed her delight with the visit, which gave her the chance to review the achievements of RTA’s Woman Committee, and get acquainted with its Committee’s various programs that serve the community in general and women in particular. During the meeting, Al Ghafli delivered a visual presentation highlighting the objectives and activities of the Association’s committees, especially those related to women, children and the disabled.
At the end of the gathering, the two parties underlined the need to conduct a joint cultural session at RTA Head Office on the International Woman Day on 08 March each year in order to discuss various conventions related to women, and address different local laws related to the empowerment of women in the UAE, in addition to opening discussion for participants and offering legal and social counseling.
