Porr Group, one of Austria’s largest construction companies and a leading player in Europe, said it has secured a major Doha Metro contract as part of a consortium consisting of SBG and HBK.
The complete tender for the “Green Line” project for the Doha Metro is worth around Euro 1.89 billion ($2.51 billion) and Porr will be responsible for 50 per cent of the overall project, representing an order volume of around Euro 945 million ($1.257 billion) for the group, it said in a statement.The signing of the project deal is planned for mid-June and will mark the largest tender in Porr’s history, it said. This has led the Porr order backlog to reach a historic high of almost EUR 4.5 billion.
This tender follows the enabling works awarded to Porr in August last year, involving preparatory work for the construction of the Doha Metro. More info
