After many years of expectation, the major public transport schemes proposed for Saudi Arabia finally seem to have moved off drawing boards towards solid tenders and contract awards.
We take a look at the plans for the sector ahead of the debate planned on the sector at CW’s Leaders in Construction KSA conference on 1 October.
The past few months have seen a series of announcements on rail and metro projects in Saudi Arabia which is leading to the major mobilisation of construction projects on the ground.
In the Holy City of Makkah, Parsons Brinckerhoff was appointed to project manage a new integrated public transport plan for the city as a whole in July, picking up a five-year, $93.6m deal to oversee the project in its entirety.
