DUBAI // The first 10 Dubai Metro stations to open on September 9 were named by the Roads and Traffic Authority today.
The opening times for the new transportation service during Ramadan and the regular schedule for the rest of the year were also announced.
From September 9, commuters will be able to take the metro from stations in Al Rashidiyah, Terminal Three, Deira City Centre, Al Rigga, Union Station, Khalid bin Al Walid, Al Jafliya, Financial Centre, Mall of the Emirates, and Nakheel Harbour and Tower.
They will be the first of a total of 29 stations on the metro’s first-phase 52km Red Line to open.
The RTA also announced that during Ramadan the metro will operate from 6am to midnight, Saturday to Thursday and from 2pm to midnight on Friday.
Normal, non-Ramadan operating hours will remain the same on Fridays, but during the week, from Saturday to Thursday, the metro will operate from 6am to 11pm.
