RTA public transport readies for Eid Al-Adha

The Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), is tip-top ready for offering its services in support of Eid Al-Adha events this year; a testament to its commitment to the community in offering a convenient and safe transit experience for all residents, visitors and tourists of the Dubai Emirate.

It has also made every precaution to ensure the smooth flow of transit services during this period which is set to witness high ridership of transit means in general.

In this context, Adel Mohammed Shakiri, Director of Transportation Systems, Public Transport Agency, said: “We have intimated all franchise companies operating taxis in Dubai Emirate (Dubai Taxi, Cars, Arabian Taxi, National Taxi, and Metro Taxi) to see to it that their fleets are fully operational, cabdrivers are readily available for deployment, and avoid carrying out maintenance jobs during this busy period.

“The Taxi Booking and Despatch Center at the Public Transport Agency will be working round-the-clock during Eid Al-Adha holidays, and necessary procedures have been taken to ensure the delivery of services at the highest levels and avoid faults through deploying experienced & highly specialist teams capable of coping with challenges that might crop up during various events and occasions,” he continued.

“Preparations are up-and-running across all other modes of mass transport such as the public buses where 16 buses have been allocated and will be in a standby to lift passengers from the Dubai Mal to ensure the smooth flow of traffic considering the anticipated influx of visitors heading towards the Dubai Mall during Eid days as it is considered a premier tourist destination in Dubai Emirate. Coordination is in hand with all stakeholders to ensure the delivery of best-in-class services to customers through the deployment of coordinators & controllers, engaging the Control Center as well as the Booking & Despatch Center to ensure the delivery of top class services and the smooth movement in Dubai Mall, shopping centers and all tourist attraction venues through providing public buses, taxis and limousines,” said the Director of Transportation Systems, Public Transport Agency, in a final remark.

It is worth mentioning that there are 8307 taxicabs across the Emirate of Dubai.
