Qatar Airways has become the fifth passenger airline that has confirmed its take off from Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central, the UAE’s new airport, inaugurated on October 27 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Doha-based Qatar Airways is the latest GCC carrier to extend its flight-plan to include the Al Maktoum International terminal, which has already seen Saudi’s Nasair, Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways and Bahrain’s Gulf Air extend support.
The inaugural flight, which was welcomed on Sunday, 11am, was Hungarian budget carrier, Wizz Air.
