Dubai: People can now enjoy New Year’s Eve fireworks without getting stuck in traffic as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) offers exclusive trips on ferries, water taxis as well as water bus.

The boats will take trips to vantage locations, which will allow passengers best possible view of fireworks at Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands, as well as the Burj Khalifa.

The trips will save people from all the hassles of positioning themselves early at vantage points and will also save them from traffic jams.

Dubai is attempting a world-record display of fireworks that will see 400,000 fireworks shot in the sky for a duration of six minutes from midnight and spread across the horizon of 100 kilometres.

The 100-passenger capacity Dubai Ferry will offer trips from Dubai Marina for a fare of Dh150 for silver class and Dh225 for gold class per head.

“We are offering an exclusive service for people, who will get value for their money in terms of getting the best view of the fireworks both at the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa,” said Hussain Khansaheb, Director of Marine Transport at RTA’s Public Transport Agency.

The ferries will start round trips from Dubai Marina, staring at 11pm and will be stationed in the sea for 20 minutes before heading back to the base.

Revellers will also have a cheaper option to travel on water bus, which will run from Al Seef, Al Ghubaiba and Dubai Marina Mal stations, starting to board at 11:30pm.

The tickets for water bus trips are priced at Dh75 per head. More info
