DOHA: Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) held a workshop in co-operation with Ministry of Interior and other government entities specialised in the safety field to introduce security and safety standards of Doha Metro, encompassing from the initial design phase to the operation phase.
The workshop was held on Sunday at Wyndham Grand Regency Hotel.
The Ministry of Interior was represented by Civil Defence, Lekhwiya (Internal Security Force) and Traffic Department at the workshop also with representatives from Hamad Medical Corporation.
Aim of the workshop was to showcase the best practices in security, health and safety when dealing with incidents and crises in all facets of projects overseen by Qatar Rail.
It is well known that Civil Defence attaches special importance to the railway project and to Qatar Rail, in case of emergency incidents.
During the workshop Qatar Rail showcased factors that it is focusing on during the construction of the rail network, including the safety of work sites, exits and access to emergency services, and telecommunications during emergencies. More info
