Dubai: Dubai Metro services on both Red and Green Lines will start from 10am this Friday for the convenience of Gitex Shopper visitors, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.
Red Line trains will run at a frequency of six to eight minutes, while Green Line trains will operate at a headway of eight minutes.
An RTA official told Gulf News that the extension is only for this Friday (April 25). Normally, the Metro usually operates from 1pm to 1am on Fridays.
The service will be complemented with bus services as well as additional taxis deployed at the Gitex venue, the Dubai World Trade Centre, from Wednesday to Saturday.
The RTA anticipates about 3,000 to 4,000 taxi trips to be made daily during the event, and a limo service will also be available.
Every week, from Sunday to Wednesday, the Metro operates from 5.30am to midnight, with trains running every seven minutes during morning peak hours and every three-and-a-half minutes during evening peak hours. More info
