RTA announces service timings during Eid al-Fitr

The Roads and Transport Authority RTA announced the timings of its different services during Eid al-Fitr holiday covering customer service centers, car parks, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit modes, driving institutes, and vehicles testing registration centers.

Ahmed Mahboob, Director of Customer Service at the RTA, said: “The Customers Service Centers will be off duty during Eid al-Fitr holiday from Sunday 29 Ramadan/ 27 July and will resume duty on Sunday 3 August 2014. All the paid parking zones in Dubai Emirate will be free of charge, except for the parking lots of the Fish Market and the Multi-level Parking terminal, during the period from Sunday 29 Ramadan to 27 July, and the fees will be activated on Saturday August 2nd.”

Explaining the metro service timing during Eid al-Fitr holiday, Mahboob said: “From 28 to 30 July, the stations on the Red Line will open from 5.30 am to 1 am (on the following day), and the Green Line stations will open from 5.50 am to 1 am (on the following day).

“Public Bus services from Monday 28 July to Wednesday 30 July will be as follows: Main Bus Stations such as the Gold Souk and Ghubaiba, the service will start at 5.10 am and end at 12 (midnight), subsidiary stations, such as Al Qusais, Satwa, Quoz and Jebel Ali, the operation time will be from 6 am to 9.30 pm at Jebel Ali Station, and other stations will operate from 5.30 am to 11.45 pm, except for Route C01 which will be operating around-the-clock. Metro Feeder Stations, such as Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirate, Ibn Battuta, Abu Hail, Etisalat, and Burj Khalifa stations, the service time will be from 5.15 am to 12.15 am (after midnight).

“The service timing of commercial transport and inter-city bus services will be as follows: Main stations, such as Ghubaiba, will be 24-hours a day, and subsidiary stations, such as the Union Square, Sabkha, Deira City Center, and Karama Stations, the service will start at 5.30 am and continue to 12 midnight. External stations, such as Sharjah (Jubail-Bur Dubai) will be 24-hours a day, Abu Dhabi Station will operate from 5.00 am to 11.55 pm (just before midnight), Fujairah station will be open from 5.50 am until 9 pm, and Ajman station will be open from 5.30 am to 9.30 pm,” he elaborated.

Explaining the timing of the marine transit modes, the Director of Customer Service, said: “Water transit means will be operational as follows: Water Bus at the Dubai Creek station will operate from 7 am to 10 pm, and on Friday from 10 am to 10 pm. The Water Bus service at the Marina station will operate from 10 am to 12 midnight, and on Friday from 12 at noon to 12 midnight.

“The Water Taxi service timing will be from 9 am to 10 pm, and the Dubai Ferry will start services at Al Ghubaiba and Marina Stations on Friday and Saturday at 11 am, 3 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm, and at the Marina Station a journey at 6.30 pm will be added. During the rest of the week, the Water Taxi will operate in the two stations at 11 am, 3 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm,” he noted.

“The timing of Vehicle Testing & registration services will be as follows: Tamam and Wasel Vehicle Testing Centers at Al Arabi Center, , Shamil, Mumayaz, Shirawi, Cars, Enoc, Tasjeel (Al Tawar and Al Barsha), Quick Vehicle Testing, and Wasel Vehicle Testing Center (Jaddaf) and Tasjeel Vehicle Testing and Registration Centers will be off from Sunday 27 July to Wednesday 30 July such that they will resume duty on Thursday 31 July.
