All traffic controls across the Gulf region will be unified in the latest efforts to reduce the number of road accidents reported.
A special committee at the Federal Authority for Land and Maritime Transport has held its first meeting to follow up the implementation of a mandatory unified guide to traffic control devices across the GCC.
The standarised guide specifies the standards by which all traffic signs, road surface markings, and signals are designed, installed, and used in all the GCC member countries, according to a statement cited by news agency WAM.
It added that the aim is to reduce accidents due to the differences between traffic rules in the GCC members and cut the costs of preparing different guides. More info
