What is PI. Dubai? We’ve seen the hoardings next to Yo! Sushi in Dubai Mall — now we can tell you what it is.
A homegrown concept (nice to see that in the mall) from the guys (Amber Haque and Rami Badawi) who run The Pizza Guys in Business Bay, it’s touted as “contemporary Italian soul food”.
Due to open in time for Eid 2015, it will serve Neapolitan-inspired pizzas and Italian classics, but with “a modern Dubai take”. They do appear to be taking it very seriously: Haque studied at the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, which protects and promotes the original methods of traditional pizza making.
In the kitchen is US chef Joe Truex, serving up dishes made with organic, sustainable meat, veg and fish and nothing frozen (the restaurant will not have a freezer, we are told). It will be open from 10am-1am. More info
