Dubai’s Danube metro station was flooded after rains lashed the country on 9 March.Â
The metro station, located around Jebel Ali Industrial area, was branded under construction conglomerate Danube Group’s banner in 2012.
Rain occurred in several parts of the UAE on 9 March, leading to significant closures the following day.
In a company statement, Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group, confirmed the metro station was flooded after the thunderstorm.
However, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority confirmed through its Twitter account that metro services were proceeding to schedule.
Abu Dhabi’s GEMS American Academy school in Khalifa A was also hurt by the UAE’s weather conditions. More info
