German official hails Dubai's growth

    Dubai: Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), received Stefan Kapferer, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Transport of Lower Saxony in Germany and the accompanying delegation.

    They discussed matters related to the construction sector and Dubai’s expansive infrastructure.

    At the outset of the meeting Al Tayer praised the quality of German products and singled out the superb quality of German technologies in buses and transport systems.

    Al Tayer then gave the visiting delegation a brief introduction to the RTA and projects undertaken including Dubai Metro; which is progressing on schedule with the Red Line set for completion this September.

     

    It extends 52km and covers 29 stations; four of which are underground (Burjuman, Union Square, Riqqa and Port Saeed) and 25 elevated stations.

    For his part Kapferer hailed the sweeping development made by the emirate of Dubai in a record time making it an attractive destination for investors, businessmen and tourists, thanks to the wise leadership and sharp vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
