UAE temperature dips to 3.8°C, can you feel the chill?

After strong winds and light showers during the day, parts of UAE saw heavy rain in the evening and later in the night.

The minimum temperature recorded today morning was 3.8 degree Celsius on Jais mountain.

Sharing today’s weather update, the National Centre of Meteorology said the day will be partly cloudy in generate with chance of different intensities of rainfall over scattered areas.

Moderate to fresh winds could blow over the exposed areas. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some internal areas.

Khaleej Times reported about rain in Dubai and Sharjah on Monday with forecasts of unsettled weather to continue till Wednesday. Waterlogging was reported in few parts of Dubai and Sharjah after rain lashed these emirates.

The areas such as Karama, Dubai International City, received heavy rainfall along with the area near the Sharjah Corniche.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted cloudy weather with further decrease in temperature. Rainfall is likely to continue till Wednesday. “The amount of clouds will increase over scattered areas of the country, associated with convective clouds and rainfall of different intensity,” the NCM stated.

Moderate to fresh winds will blow inland and may cause blowing dust over some exposed areas.

“The relative humidity is likely to increase by night and early morning over some internal areas.”

The sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf, and rough in Oman Sea. Forecasters have warned people not to venture into the sea till Tuesday due to extremely turbulent waters.

Fresh northwesterly winds continued on Monday, and are expected to get strong by night over northern and eastern areas. Wind speed is expected to reach 60kmph over the sea.

On Thursday and Friday this week, weather will be humid during the morning and night with probability of mist or fog, especially in the internal areas. Light to moderate north westerly wind in general are expected, freshening at times by Thursday with speeds reaching 40 km/hr.
