September 12th will see the Museum of Illusions open in Dubai at the emirate’s Al Seef development near the Dubai Creek.

The project will boast the largest collection of optical illusions in the Museum of Illusions’ worldwide portfolio, housing 80 exhibits which will provide visitors with unique visual and sensory experiences.

The museum first opened in Croatian capital Zagreb in 2015, with over six branches quickly following and over six more slated for 2018 in Athens, New York, Toronto and Berlin.

While the full line-up of exhibits will be revealed closer to date, the venue is set to feature a Vortex Tunnel which tricks visitors into thinking the ground is shifting, and Ames Room, where guests shrink or grow depending on their position.

Unlike ‘classical’ museums, the venue will encourage visitors to interact with the exhibits and take as many photos as they can during their journey. The museum also welcomes all ages.

“The human brain is an incredibly complex computer that perceives and interprets reality through an elaborate process of gathering information from each of our senses,” said Varvara Svischeva, Manager, Museum of Illusions Dubai.

“When engaging with our illusions, the mind will combine some details and exclude others to create a sensory experience that defies logic. It’s always incredible seeing the universal human response to Museum of Illusions exhibits – it’s the same reactions all over the world,” she added.

The venue in Dubai will open to the public on September 12th at 2 pm. More
