Coronavirus: UAE National Disinfection Programme extended further

The UAE National Disinfection Programme is to continue indefinitely.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Ministry of Interior have announced that new facilities and establishments across all seven emirates would be added to the plan.

It will be up to local authorities in each emirate to draw up and implement their own respective plans.

The programme was initially launched on March 26, but was extended and was due to come to a conclusion on April 4.

The daily programme begins at 8pm until 6am the following day, with movement restricted during the period.

Members of the public are urged to continue staying indoors during this period, unless it is deemed absolutely necessary to obtain essential food supplies or medicine or perform essential jobs in vital sectors.

Energy, communication, health, education, security, and the police, along with the military, and the postal, freight, pharmaceutical, water, food, civil aviation, airport, passport, finance and banking, and government media sectors, in addition to the services sector, which includes gas stations and construction projects, were included in the list of vital sectors.

Relevant categories will be verified by the authorities through business cards or ID cards. More
