A delegation from the Women’s Committee of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) paid a field visit to the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center in Dubai, as part of RTA strategy and corporate social responsibility to communicate with all the institutions and support the disabled cause.
According to Dr. Aysha Saad Al Busmait, Chairwomen of RTA Women Committee and Director of Customer Service, the delegation toured all sections and units of the Centre, reviewed the experience of the Center and inspected the work progress in the workshops designed for the produce of female and male students at the Center, reflecting the UAE heritage.
“This visit, which is in line with the policies of RTA corporate social responsibility, shed light on this important sector of the community, and reflected RTA care and interest in the creative products made by special needs students from Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center in Dubai. These items will be used in various events and celebrations held by the RTA; which also aims to integrate this category in the community, and showcase their creative human potentials which ought to be cared for,” said Dr. Aysha.
Ms. Mariam Othman Yousef, Director General of the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Center in Dubai, welcomed the visit of RTA delegation to the Center, where she made a brief explanation of the mission, vision and programs of the Centre over 15 years spent by the Center in serving children and girls with special needs. “The strategic objective of the Centre is to provide the best rehabilitative, therapeutic, recreational, professional and educational services to this segment with the aim of integrating it into society,” she added.
The two sides then held a meeting in which they emphasized the importance of three main pillars in boosting bilateral communication & cooperation: exchanging visits, programs and studies; establishing a future partnership to enhance the role of special needs students at Rashid Center; and promoting humanitarian informational means through capitalizing on the potentials of the RTA to bring the issues and aspirations of people with special needs to the forefront of the community attention.
