The needs of a working woman will be extensively studied closely by two Dubai establishments so as to identify and address the issues of the working women and rising up to the challenges they encounter in order to overcome obstacles and achieve the best practices.
This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Women’s Committee of the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Women Establishment.
The MoU was signed by the director of Customer Service, and Chairwoman of RTA’s Women’s Committee Dr Aysha Al Busmait and the Executive Director of Dubai Women Establishment Shamsa Salih.
The event took place at RTA’s Head Office in attendance of several members of both parties.
Dr Al Busmait said the MoU was the first agreement ever to be made with a third party, especially with an establishment dealing mainly with women issues with the aim of supporting their role in the community to become a powerful and driving force in building the country.
She stressed that such cooperation would bring about many positive results in support of women highlighted by the need to carry out extensive studies on the working women, and run many joint activities between the two parties.
The agreement entails among other things “preparing awareness programmes in different areas, be it cultural, social, or sports programmes, creating an appropriate environment for women, organising seminars and diverse women courses, preparing and publishing researches and studies on women’s work.”
“RTA paid attention to the woman by allocating seats for females in public transport, metro, buses and taxis out of its belief in the privacy needed by women.”
For her part, Shamsa Salih said: “We are proud of the initiatives undertaken by the female staff in Dubai Women Establishment, which contribute to activating women’s role, supporting them at all levels, and boosting their effective communal contribution; something our wise leadership is keen on.”
“In keeping with its objectives, the establishment is keen on enhancing the image of the UAE female leaders, and developing special policies to uplift their role and boost their drive towards achieving professional, social and economic stability.”
The agreement also aims at providing facilitates relating to benefiting from the services and activities of Dubai Ladies Club, a member of the Dubai Women Establishment.
