After Gulf News published the September 10 community report about passengers waiting in long lines for the bus from the Bur Dubai station to Abu Dhabi, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) took quick action within one week.

By September 23 at about 5pm, I revisited the Bur Dubai bus station to check how long the queue was. This time, there were no commuters in the queue. The RTA increased the buses and their frequencies.

The RTA staff and bus drivers were also friendly and cooperative in helping the passengers get on the buses.

I waited at the bus station for about one hour to watch the commuters. No one had to wait in a queue and within 20 minutes, three buses had left for Abu Dhabi full of passengers.

In the same community report, I had also mentioned the Nol recharge machine was not working since its installation on Naif road, opposite the Al Futtaim Mosque.

The RTA has since then rectified the problem. Now the same NOL card machine is working properly and passengers can happily use the machine.

Thank you very much to the RTA and Gulf News for the quick action.
