The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi will build a new Mafraq – Ghweifat main road and new Abu Dhabi – Dubai main road at a cost of AED7.4bn ($2bn).
The announcement comes following the approval by the Executive Council during its recent meeting presided over by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Council authorised the DoT to appoint contractors to execute both projects estimated to cost AED7.4bn ($2bn). The DoT will contract the following consortiums and companies to implement both projects:
