HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA has recently received in his office HE Paul Ramsey, American Consul General in Dubai.
The meeting discussed way & means of boosting joint cooperation and sharing expertise between the RTA and American entities operating in the field of railways, roads and transportation. Discussions also covered the forthcoming roads & infrastructure projects in Dubai, especially with the rising number of American firms specialized in roads and public transport systems currently undertaking projects for the RTA.
“Over the forthcoming years, the RTA will construct & operate metro & tram projects costing billions of dirham including Route 2020 involving the extension of the Red Line of Dubai Metro to the exhibition yard of Expo 2020, extension of the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, Phase II of Dubai Tram, and a host of road & bridge projects. Future projects offer a great opportunity for companies to bid for RTA tenders,” said Al Tayer.
The American Consul General hailed the sweeping development seen by the Emirate of Dubai in a short time, rendering it a focal point for investors, businesspersons and tourists. “We are seeking to boost the strategic partnerships and cooperative relationships between the RTA and a host of specialist American firms & factories in the field of roads and transportation through undertaking several projects in the near future,” he said.
