ASK has announced the delivery of the first batch of 1.5 million contactless Nol cards for Dubai’s public transit system.
ASK’s Nol is a multimodal contactless card used in Dubai’s metro, buses, water buses and parking meters. The cards come in three different layouts: Silver, Gold and Blue. Silver cards function as standard e-purses, while the upgraded Gold card grants the user access to Metro’s Gold Class seats. The Blue card is a personalized card with the holder’s photo.
The city’s transport operator Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which launched the Dubai’s metro less than two years ago, has employed Abba Electronics to implement the contactless fare collection system.
