El Seif Engineering & Contracting Co – one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest construction companies – is part of a consortium bidding to run the Riyadh Bus Network.
The company has submitted a bid alongside Turkish transport company Gersel Turizm Tasimacilik to run the new network, which includes a new Bus Rapid Transport System being proposed alongside the city’s new Metro project.
According to Arab News, the Arriyadh Development Authority in charge of delivering the project has announced that the other three bidders include a partnership between Hafil Public Transport Co and the UK’s National Express Group, France’s RATP-Dev and Saudi Public Transport Co and a joint venture between US-based MV Transportation and Hafil Public Transport Company.
