According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai metro carried 60,000 participants through the Dubai Fitness Challenge from 4:30am to 10:00am.
As many as 30,000 riders used the metro pre-event, while another 30,000 took the ride post-event.
RTA revealed that the metro had been the main mode of transportation for participants to reach the race site on Sheikh Zayed Road.
An estimated 43% of participants used metro to and from race site, 38% reached the site by private cars and the remainder used taxis or walked.
RTA also provided 10 double-decker buses to transport the participants from Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and Zabeel Dubai Mall. More
