Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) chairman Mattar Al Tayer has scooped the prestigious Man of the Year award at Monday night’s CEO Middle East Awards.
Al Tayer received the award in recognition of his completing the Dubai Metro project earlier this month, after what the judges described as a “fabulous achievement that has required incredible leadership”.
Al Tayer was one of 14 business leaders honoured at the ceremony, held at Dubai’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Meanwhile, the vice president of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation, Leila El Solh, was honoured for her outstanding work with the “Businesswoman of the Year” Award. The judges described her work as being of “global significance”.
The event featured a keynote address from Arabtec boss Riad Kamal, who also received a special Lifetime Achievement Award.
