Thousands of passengers were left stranded last night after a system fault halted Dubai Metro in both directions on the Red Line.
The trains came to a halt just before 7pm in what Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) described a technical issue between Business Bay and Nakheel stations.
The RTA deployed buses and taxis to the areas affected as engineers worked to rectify the fault.
Normal service resumed just after 8pm, by which time many passengers had taken to social media to vent their frustration. More info
